Finally a good home CCTV.
I had many cheap security cameras in the past, they did the job, but I always had many connectivity issues with them and the image quality was questionable. With the toucan s4 that is no longer an issue. Image is sharp, battery life is good and the cloud storage is a nice touch. Anything that is subscription free I do really appreciate. Well built, it feels like it's made to last for years, I should give an updated review in maybe a year or two. So far it feels solid.

Does the Toucan S4 require a subscription?

No.

The S4 Camera works with the free Toucan Smart Home app, which does not require a subscription.
Features like live view, motion detection alerts, and motion recordings are all included for free.

Any recordings from the camera will be viewable and downloadable for 24 hours from the time of creation.

How far does the motion detection work?

Motion detection is effective up to 6 meters

How long does the battery last?

Battery life is dependent on multiple factors such as how many motion triggers it receives per day, Wi-Fi signal strength and cold weather. The battery is designed for long lasting performance between charges.

Can I share access with family members?

Yes, you can share access with one other person at no additional cost via the Toucan app. Your shared user will need to set up their own account. Head to Settings & Shared Devices within the app to share your device.

Will the S4 work with my Wi-Fi network?

The Toucan S4 connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, the most common frequency in most homes. It offers better range for outdoor devices.
