Does the camera need to be charged?

Before first installation, we always recommend the camera is fully charged using the included charger.

After this, for the S5, as long as it is in a bright location, the built-in solar panel should maintain the camera’s charge.

It’s important to note that this is dependent on weather conditions and usage.

Do I need a subscription?

No.

The Cameras and doorbell work with the free Toucan Smart Home app, which does not require a subscription.
Features like live view, motion detection alerts, and motion recordings are all included for free.

Any recordings from the camera will be viewable and downloadable for 24 hours from the time of creation.

You can add unlimited devices to your free account.

Can I share access with others?

Yes.

Using the Toucan Smart Home app, you can share the devices with one other person free of charge. This person does not have to be part of your household.

If you upgrade to a paid subscription tier, you can share the camera with up to 10 additional people.

How far does the motion detection work on the doorbell?

Motion detection is effective up to 5 meters (16 feet).

Can I wire the doorbell to a power source?

No, the V3 doorbell can’t be wired to a consistent power source, using only batteries.
